We invite you to experience three glorious Toronto concerts, featuring a major world premiere by Canadian composer, Peter-Anthony Togni, an uplifting performance of Handel’s Messiah and a Spring flourish of voices featuring a moving new creation by Canadian composer Norbert Palej. We welcome four renowned choirs as our guests: the University of Toronto Faculty of Music MacMillan Singers and instrumental ensemble, Dr. Jamie Hillman, conductor; The Elora Singers, Mark Vuorinen, Artistic Director; the VIVA Singers, Carol Ratzlaff, Artistic Director and the Amadeus Choir, Lydia Adams, Interim Artistic Director.

Featuring the world premiere of Peter-Anthony Togni’s new choral work The Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom with special guests, The Elora Singers, Mark Vuorinen, Artistic Director. Experience the beautiful acoustics and surroundings of St. Basil’s Church as we welcome Canadian composer Peter Togni to be with us for the premiere performance.
Lydia Adams will conduct an encore of this concert with EIS and The Elora Singers at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate in Guelph on Sunday, November 10th at 4pm.
December Splendour – Handel’s “Messiah”

Bringing together the mass voices of the Elmer Iseler Singers, our associate choir, the VIVA Chamber Singers, and the Amadeus Choir to present Handel’s Messiah, with award-winning Canadian soloists: Leslie Fagan, Soprano; Allyson McHardy, Mezzo-Soprano; Colin Ainsworth, Tenor; and Peter McGillivray, Baritone; and orchestra. VIVA, directed by Carol Woodward Ratzlaff, enters its 25th season with a total of seven choirs. The Amadeus Choir, Kathleen Allan, Artistic Director, just celebrated their 50th season.
Last year’s performance was refered to as our “best Messiah ever!” We can’t wait to bring it to you again!

Featuring the Toronto premiere of Norbert Palej’s new choral work Missa Super Terminos with special guests, the MacMillan Singers, directed by Dr. Jamie Hillman. The MacMillan Singers are a 45-student chamber choir from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music. Norbert Palej is Associate Professor of Composition and the artistic director of the annual New Music Festival at U of T.
Lydia Adams and the Elmer Iseler Singers welcome this special association with the Faculty of Music, U of T and Dr. Jamie Hillman, Elmer Iseler Chair in Conducting.
